"On July 11 after 60 years of US economic war and a pandemic that cut off tourist income, some anti-government demonstrations took place in Cuba. This led to a massive barrage of distortions and lies by the US media, including portrayals of much larger pro-government counter-demonstrations as anti-government protests. There even were calls by people like the mayor of Miami for US military intervention. Join us for a different point of view on Cuba and its relations with the US.
For 29 years IFCO/Pastors for Peace has been sending friendshipment caravans to Cuba to show solidarity from people in the US against the 60+ years of US aggression against Cuba, including the US economic blockade. They are going again in November, and will be taking medical aid for Cuba with them."
Puentes de Amor
Seattle-based Cuban American teacher/veteran and activist Carlos Lazo, along with 6 other Cuban Americans, undertook a 1300 mile epic pilgrimage from Miami to Washington, DC in July. On July 25 they presented members of the Biden administration with a petition signed by more than 25,000 people demanding the lifting of the illegal and immoral U.S. embargo aimed at asphyxiating the Cuban people. Instead, Lazo wants to build Puentes de Amor, bridges of love, between the two countries. Carlos will also share one of his many gifts and play a couple of songs.
