Handcuffs by Antonio Guerrero

”I Will Die the Way I’ve Lived”
Art by recently freed Cuban Five member Antonio Guerrero
Exhibit: March 7- April 7
At the Musicians Association of Seattle, Local 76-493, AFM
3209 Eastlake Ave. E., Seattle, 98102

Created for the 15th Anniversary of the Imprisonment of the Cuban Five

The “I Will Die the Way I’ve Lived” exhibit consists of prints of 15 paintings created by Cuban Five member Antonio Guerrero on the 15th anniversary of the imprisonment of the Cuban Five in 2013. Today the Cuban Five members are free and back in Cuba as of Dec. 17, 2014, after an accord was signed between the governments of the United States and Cuba. Their freedom was won after an unrelenting 16-year international defense effort, carried out by the ‘jury of millions’.

The original paintings in this collection are hanging in the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana.

Also on display will be a print from Antonio Guerrero’s collection, ‘Absolved by Solidarity’ which was created for the 16th anniversary of the imprisonment of the Five in 2014.

This historic exhibit has toured internationally and will be on display during March at the Musicians’ Association of Seattle.

Two special events will be held to discuss the exhibit, the Cuban Five today and ending the US embargo against Cuba:
Sat. March 7, 7pm: Opening reception. Presentation on the exhibit’s creation and the Cuban Five today.
Sat., March 28, 7pm: Panel discussion: The Cuban Five’s ongoing fight to defend Cuba’s sovereignty.

End the U.S. embargo against Cuba!

Sponsored by Volunteers for the Antonio Guerrero Exhibit. All events are free and open to the public. Exhibit may also be viewed during office hours from 9am to 5pm M-F. The office close daily for lunch from 12:30 -1:30 pm.
