June 1997: IFCO/Pastors for Peace 7th Friendshipment Caravan to Cuba
1997's Friendshipment Caravan to Cuba was dedicated to the children of Cuba. In Seattle, we collected as usual an assortment of bicycles, school supplies and medical supplies with a focus in each category on those approriate for children. We staged a a rally at the Peace Arch Park in Blaine, Washington at the US/Candian border to welcome Canadian participants in the Caravan.
The Caravan made a successful trip to Cuba and delivered donations to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Center in Havana.
